Thinking Outside The Box

Everyone who has had a great idea, had to think outside the box. They broke away from the uniformity of a group, and started something new. People sometimes frown on individuals who do this. Why? It is because no one else thought that way.

In order to become what we are truly meant to be, we need to have the courage to express our own ideas, even if we think about something differently. It's challenging. As individuals, we are like no other on this earth. We are unique and different. That gives us a wonderful opportunity for us to expand our gifts and teach others.

It is a bit scary at first, but we can overcome our fear of looking silly or feeling uncomfortable. We need to take the risk, and be who we really are, even if others don't approve. We are all contributing something to the world. We all have different attributes that are important to express. So, let's give it a go, and let others know who we really are.

Expectations

We all have expectations of ourselves and others. There are times when we just have to let them go. I'll say it again...There are times when we have to let go of our expectations. Why?

It's simple because it's like carry a weight around your neck. It gets very heavy and can drain us of the present moment.

When we expect someone to act a certain way, we usually end up feeling disappointed. We cannot control what others do. We can never control what others say or do. We must go into the relationship, without feeling like the other person needs to change. Otherwise...again...we are disappointed.

As far as ourselves, we cannot judge oneself too harshly. Are the expectations we have of ourselves realistic? Or, are they too much? There is a saying... Rome wasn't built in a day...

It means that you cannot expect to change yourself or who you are, without work and time.

If we have realistic goals, then by all means, go for it. But, make sure that you are being fair with yourself. Always be Fair with You! You are worth it.

In conclusion, let go of your expectations of others. They will not change, unless they want to. As far as expectations of yourself, make sure they are realistic and attainable.

BE YOUR OWN BEST FRIEND :)

5 things that can help you Change your Life

1. Give yourself credit - I am sure you have done something today that made you feel like you have accomplished something...Look hard and you will find something

2. Accept your short comings - We all have them. It's time you see you "faults" and are OK with them.

3. Fill your head with positivity - You are really OK just the way you are. You have so many beautiful qualities...just take inventory,

4. Follow your heart - You heart usually can lead you to your passion...Listen to it!

5. Let go of the past - It doesn't exist anymore...it did exist, or once was, now it's OVER.

Transitions

We are always experiencing transitions from our early childhood into adulthood. We are born, and transition into life, and a whole new world awaits us. There are so many new things to explore and understand. As we grow, we reach milestones that we never thought we could reach. Sometimes the transitions are hard, and we fight going through the change, but in the end, we are better for them.

Change brings growth, and when we grow, we understand ourselves in a clearer way. Many times, it is the beginning of us becoming our best selves. We are pushed in a direction, that we wouldn't ordinarily go in. The outcome can be amazing.

Let's take this journey together, and press on in changes we need to have in our lives. We will become better because of them.

Follow Me

What is it about us, that as human beings, we enjoy being followed? I don't mean that in the literal sense, like someone being followed in a dark alley! We love when people follow our blogs, our great moves on the tennis court, or our advice. I think it validates what we do and who we are. We follow someone we admire and respect. So here's to following...especially when you follow me :)

Getting Older

Getting older is really a blessing. I think I have learned to appreciate the meaning of what it is to live and appreciate life. I realize more and more that what I have is enough. I don't need any more stuff to make me happier. I see the things around me as blessings. I am enough...just the way I am.

Overcoming Ourselves and Manifesting our True Desires

I have been writing a blog and posting motivational quotes on Face Book in my group, TalktoDeb. I actually started it because I needed to read some inspiring words myself. My Dad and my father-in-law have been sick, in and out of hospitals, and needless to say, it's been stressful. When I wrote my feelings on paper, it created a release for me. Also, reading positive messages and inspirational sayings seemed to lift my mood.

Here's what I found. If you believe in something very strongly...you can make it happen. If you focus on that one goal, your dreams can come true. You have to be persistent, but if you stay on track, it will happen.

I found every reason on earth not follow through and write. First I felt brain dead. In other words, I had writer's block. But, I wasn't even an author! How could I not figure out what to say? I decided to let it go and come back refreshed the next day.

The following day arrives, and I get up and decide to blog right away. The house is quiet enough, and I start to feel inspired. I write a beautiful blog about how I want to reinvent my TalktoDeb blog and bring it to the next level.

After it's all written, I want to cut, copy, and paste something I wrote previously, and add it to this amazing story. I do that, and feel accomplished, satisfied, and proud. Maybe there is a chance I could be an author? Everybody else in the world seems to creating blogs, and some are making money with them! I delete the old post and return to my finished masterpiece; but instead of deleting the old post, I delete the new one that I spent over 2 hours writing.

I was pissed off, to say the least. I started getting angry and tried everything to fix my mistake. Nothing worked. I needed another break. This time I headed straight to TJ Maxx, like a lion on the prowl. I needed a fix and I called it shopping. After spending some money, on stuff I definitely didn't need, I came home.

I wondered if this blogging and writing stuff was worth my time? I had thoughts about doing something else. My daughter was home baking cupcakes. Maybe we should open up a small bakery and post inspirational messages on the cupcakes?

I had a dilemma. But, did I really have one? I didn't. In fact I knew in my heart that I was not supposed to be baking cupcakes. I was meant to write. Even if no one reads any of it, I felt that writing was a kind of calling. Then I hit the wrong button and this came up published, and I wasn't finished. Could I cut, copy, and paste correctly this time? Yes I could!

In life we must overcome any obstacles that are in our way, to get the final result. In my case, it was writing this blog! If you know what your passion is, follow your heart, and don't let anything deter you. Stay on that path, until you reach your dream.
